"Cal Ride Along" Commercial Campaign, Comcast

Renegade Productions was again given the pleasure of working with the merry band at Comcast on a new campaign featuring Cal Ripken Jr. The campaign was a shot on 35mm over two days, color corrected by the good folks at NFL Films and scored by a guy with glasses.

"Welcome Back" Commercial, Comcast

Our client needed to tell the story of how real people were coming back to Comcast So we decided to include a classic John Sebastian song to create a compelling sense of nostalgia and yearning to come home. We were also passionate about including their real employees. Casting was an exciting journey that truly re-invigorated the client in their belief in the quality of the brand and services. The spots tested through the roof for believability and brand improvement.

"All Season Gear" Product Launch Support, Under Armour

Under Armour was launching a new product and needed to find a unique and exciting way to explain what All Season Gear is all about. We developed a multi-chaptered approach that told their story of innovation and product development, yet still delivered strong selling points. We loved creating the diverse moods and blending the completely unique elements together seamlessly.

"PUSH", Short Film

As filmmakers, we stumbled across an incredible location that just had to be filmed - an abandoned grain silo on the Baltimore Harbor. We created a short narrative film with an interactive online component, rallied some great actors, and took a few freezing days to shoot our dark, psychological journey. The result was an award-winning short that truly pushed our team to the limit in shooting, editing, CG and compositing. Check out the entire story at www.pushshortfilm.com.

"Back to School" Commercial, Comcast

Nothing says back to school like hooking up to cable TV. So while shooting another campaign for the client, we conceived a couple of 15 second, anti-competition spots. And harken us back to the days of Sixteen Candles.

"High Def Ref" Commercial, Motorola/NFL/Cox

How do you sell the power of High Definition Digital Video Recorders from Motorola? Tell it through the eyes of a retired NFL referee who misses calling the plays on the grid iron. The campaign delivered a 40% lift in DVR sales and the sweepstakes drove some serious online traffic. The clients had one thing to say, TOUCH DOWN!

"Cricket Remote" Commercial, Universal Electronics

It's like what Tim Robbins said in the Hudsucker Proxy when convincing the president of Hudsucker Industries the business model of the hula hoop, "You know... its for kids." Universal Electronics has a compelling remote control that allows kids to surf TV without stumbling across inappropriate material and we had the pleasure of shooting this commercial for them. ***Warning: This commercial contains some appropriate material.

"Now You Can" Commercial, MetroCast

Matt Groening proved it over fifteen years ago, the nuclear family can make us laugh, cry and purchase products. When MetroCast wanted to promote the benefits of their VIP products, we borrowed from the master of family comedy and shot a series of warm but honest portrayals of family life with cable products as the hero. And we had some fun along the way.

"This is Madness" Commercial, Comcast

You need to promote the best in HD programming during the height of sports season? Get the Iron Man! We created a series of moody commercials hosted by Hall of Famer, Cal Ripken, Jr. to promote March Madness, The Masters, and MLB. We thought Cal looked really cool in a sport coat and who isnt a sucker for those blue eyes. No color correct necessary.

"The Easiest Install" Commercial, Comcast

What can we say, we love to advertise technology. So when it came to promoting self-installation kits for Comcast Digital Cable, what better way to approach the challenge than to think, "What would Hitchcock do?"

"Moving Is Hard" Commercial, CTAM/Lowes

Moving is a drag and easy to make fun of. So imagine our joy when we got to create a campaign showing just how bad it sucks. This national campaign ran with a promotion with Lowes. Needless to say, the actors were a little sore after production of this campaign.

"A Shortstop In China", Documentary Film

When Cal Ripken, Jr's Public Relations firm asks, "Do you want to go to China to make a movie?" You dont say no. This sports doc ran on MASN sports net and was selected for the National Baseball Hall of Fame film festival. We shot 10 days in HD, traveled to three cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou), had a blast. (By the way, autographed copies are for sale. Want one? Give us a call.)

"My World" Multi-Screen Event Installation, NCTA

The 2010 Cable Show was hosted in Hollywood this year, and we had the honor of producing the marquee multi-screen video installation. Directing for multi-panel was a blast, especially since we got to feature our hometown of Baltimore as if she could double for a vast range of locations. Oh, did we mention we created every element for every computer screen from scratch? See if you can’t find the Easter eggs.

“Ted Nugent", NRA

“If you’re not having fun with Uncle Ted, there’s something wrong with you.” were the exact words out of Ted Nugent’s mouth when we got to his Texas Ranch. And if you’re going to get gun owners to register to vote, who better to get you fired up than the Motor City Madman. The cherry on the icing was when he let us shoot off his fully automatic weapons, but that’s a different story.

“Chuck Norris", NRA

“Kicking butt and taking names.” is what went down when the Herald Group gave us the assignment to fly to Texas for a Chuck Norris shoot. And when the karate Master himself opened his own front door and said “Come on in, boys.” our childhood dreams came alive. The rest is history, and yes, he actuall does use the Total Fitness Gym Workout every day.

“Bling" Commerical, Bling Fashion Show

“In an effort to launch a breakout fashion show, Renegade was chosen in to make this evening of enticement draw a record crowd. Through the use of vibrant colors, deep focus, and couture wear, we cinematically brought animal attraction alive at this nightclub shoot. No alcohol was consumed and no animals were harmed during the shoot.

“HD in the 800's" Commerical, Comcast

TVs, TVs, and more TVs. Who doesn’t want a huge flat screen TV these days? Because HD has proven once –and-for-all that size does matter. So we just blew it out and stacked up as many TVs as possible to help Comcast drive more HD subscribers. Post loved the thrill of filling in all the little screens.
